Welcome to SPRK MUSIC, a service provided by Sprkle Music LTD.
This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you register and use sprkmusic.com (the “Site”) or any of its affiliated mobile/tablet applications (the “App”).
PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site/App, we collect information about how many user profiles you visit, how many videos or pictures you upload, and information about how you interact with the Site/App. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information”.
We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

– “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
– “Web beacons”, “tags”, and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.
Additionally, when registering through the Site or our mobile iOS or Android application, we collect certain information from you, including your full name, email address, date of birth, sex, location (City or Town). Optional information we collect from you includes your race and a profile picture. We refer to this information as “User Information”.
As a purely music social platform, we also collect musical information from you including speciality / instrument(s) and genre(s). We refer to this information as “Musical Information.
When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information, User Information and Musical Information.
HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We use the User and Musical Information that we collect generally to display on your Profile page and on the Find Users page so that other music user accounts or followers can find you for employment or engagement opportunities such as performing at concerts or corporate events, for collaboration opportunities or for the main purpose of the Site/App, namely for general entertainment purposes.
Additionally, we use User Information to:
– Communicate with you;
– Suspend or permanently delete your account if there is any evidence of you misusing the Site/App or abusing any of its users; and
– When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our services.
We use the Device Information that we collect generally to improve and optimize our Site/App (for example, by generating analytics about how our users browse and interact with the Site/App, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
We may use site/app visit data to advertise/retarget you with advertising.
Below we have schematically set out what personal data we collect about you and for what purposes:

SPRK MUSIC Competitions are also age restricted (16+, however subject to the minimum legal age required in a few countries for this kind of competition entry). To help us with targeted marketing. |
Sex | We take this information so that users can find appropriate collaboration partners. We take this information so that event organisers/agents/managers (followers) can target and/or contact artists of a specific sex. To help us with targeted marketing. |
Location | We take this information to help users find collaboration partners in their city or local area. We take this information so that event organisers/agents/managers (followers) can target and/or contact artists at a specific location. To help us with targeted marketing. |
Racial Origin (note: there is an “unspecified” option) | We take this information so that users can browse race against musical genre and speciality / instrument. (i.e find a black hip-hop violinist etc.) This might come useful for music video collaboration etc. Adding racial origin will give the user an additional tag which they can be found by in the Find Users search. To help us with research and targeted marketing. |
Email address | To verify your email address at registration. To send out any correspondence concerning you or your SPRK MUSIC account (news, updates or upcoming competitions). |
Specialty / Instrument / Genre | To display this information on your user profile page. To to help users find musicians in a more accurate way. To enable us to engage in target marketing for our competitions. |
Profile picture (note: upload option can be skipped) | To have a visual representation of you on your profile page and many of the other pages on SPRK MUSIC, including the newsfeed, messenger, notifications etc. |
SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not share your Personal Information with third parties. We use Google Analytics to help us understand how our users use the Site/App –

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

As described above, we use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. DATA RETENTION
When you register on the Site/App, we will maintain your account Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
